Am Mittwoch, 1. Februar 2012, 20.00 Uhr, wird in der Filmpalette Köln der israelische Film  „Hachov“ („The Debt“, „Die Schuld“), OmeU, gezeigt…

HaChov („The Debt“) – The year is 1965 and Rachel Brenner is one of three young Mossad agents who caught ‚THE SURGEON OF TREBLINCA‘, a Nazi monster who was never brought to trial in Israel. The official reason was that he has committed suicide as a prisoner while being held by his Israeli captives in a safe house somewhere in Europe.

Today, 35 years after the well known supposed suicide of this monster, a small article appears in a local unimportant paper in a small town in central Europe. Surprisingly the Surgeon is ALIVE and is willing to admit his crimes against the human race and especially the Jews.

The same three Mossad agents, who are now in their late 60’s, became aware of this threatening knowledge. The reality, the ‚Surgeon‘ had managed to escape from his guards, our three agents, by wounding Rachel who was not alert enough.

Now that the old true story has resurfaced, the agents need to secure their lives, reputation and the story they have invented. They decide to take the law into their hands by completing their old assignment to eliminate ‚the Surgeon of Treblinka‘, before their big lie is out. Its decided that Rachel will be the one to carry out the mission. Rachel today is a well-known beloved writer publishing her new book. She owes that job to her country, friends but especially herself. She will not be able to live with 35 years of terrible lies.
