I hope you speak English? Im lo, az ani gam yakhol lishloakh lekhem et
I am trying to track down my father's family, which
originated in Germany. They arrived in the USA at the beginning of the 20th
century and are originally from a town called Emmernich or Annelich.....I
have many details --- I have looked at the Beth Hatefusote in Tel Aviv and
my name -- Kemp -- came up only once and it led nowhere....just the names of
the the towns which may have something to do with my family's history. As I
don't speak German I was unable to follow up.
Do you know of some kind of archive on German Jews where I could go to
try to find further information? I am sure that the origins are German, and
have been trying for some time to fill in the blanks concerning my family
--- my father's father died when he was young and unfortunately we lost all
trace of the family in Germany, who I imagined perished in the Shoah. Any
help would be much appreciated. It is strange not to know who one's
Thanks and hoping to hear from you soon,

|After investigating the internet
a bit, your web site has piqued my curiosity. I am making a film on my
family's german roots and am searching for information on their lives within
their respective communities. Unfortunately my german language skills are
limited. It seems however that your web site could help me greatly. So my
question is do you have an english web page and if not,do you have people
who can help me out?
I look foward to communicating with you.
Here's some information to put on your forum:
My name is Jack Stoerger. I am presently working on a film documentary of
my father and forefathers. They lived in southern Germany in
Grosszimern and Manheim. They were in the agriculture business and
married with the Mais of Friedberg who were related to the
Issenburgers of Assenheim and Melbach. All of these families were
involved to some degree with the Frankfurt commodities market, no doubt as
agriculture producers. They were Jewish. The Issenburgers were Schutzjuden,
most likely within a Melbach or Assenheim principality. I am searching for
information not just on the families, although I cannot overstate the
importance of finding out as much as possible on them, but I am also looking
for photos, documents, old films and local scholars and historians who can
futher help me on my quest to discover where and how my forefathers lived.
Even though I can't write german, I do speak it. I look forward to
communicating with anyone who would like to help.
