Subject: The Arab League response,
Netanyahu and the Ignition of the Policy of Hatred!
Since the election of the Israeli PM Penjamin Netanyahu the Peace Process
never gained any momentum , and in fact his stubborn policy of expanding
Israeli Settlements has led to the whole Middle East process come closer to
the brink of collapse . The Arabs and International public opinion blame the
Israeli Netanyahu policy as mainly responsible for the demolition of the
great achievements towards Peace which have been done in part by his
predecessors Rabin and Peres from the Israeli side.
The Netanyahu stubborn policy has also helped
the continuation and in many cases ignited the hatred vicious circle which
have created in the past terrorism , fundamentalism and other forces of the
dark all over the decades of turmoil in the Middle East.
The latest Arab League Foreign Ministers
decision to respond to the stubborn Netanyahu policy by recommending
reintroducing the Arab Boycott of Israel and imposition of economic
sanctions may be a reply of a kind or justified in the context of reacting
to the Netanyahu stubborn policy , but it cannot be justified if it led to
the complete collapse of the peace process which is the only alternative to
the majority of the Peoples of the Middle East.
Only fools can deny the fact that the Peace Process was about to realise a
great breakthrough during Rabin-Peres era , and that the great achievements
of peace began to collapse one after the other during the Netanyahu
systematic policy of demolishing the peace process. History will remember
that those who created the peace process have a great vision for a new
Middle East, have the courage to stop the hatred vicious circle , and have
the wisdom not to act foolishly sacrificing the achievements towards peace.
The Netanyahu era is a step backward to the
dark stage of turmoil and belligerency in the Middle East . As for the Arab
League response to retaliate to the stubborn policy of Netanyahu by
reintroducing the old policy of hatred and boycott I believe it is not the
right wisdom step in the right direction as the main alternative to the
whole people of the Middle East is to defend the Peace Process and fight
back the enemies of peace.
The policy of settlements expansion , the policy of boycott , the policy of
isolation , the policy of hatred and the policy of belligerency should be
things of the dark past . The Netanyahu stubborn policies of demolishing
the achievements of the Peace process should not be reciprocated by policies
of the same kind and thus endangering the Great achievements of the Peace
Process as sooner or later the Israeli people will discover that the
Netanyahu era led them no where nearer towards peace and force him to step
down.
The Netanyahu era may have revived the vicious circle of turmoil in the
Middle East where forces of the dark are waiting to step in to encourage
fundamentalism and terrorism , but this should not discourage the great
majorities of the Peoples of the Middle East from holding together in
defence of the Peace Process which is the only alternative left to them to
live together in a new Middle East where only leaders of a courage can make
peace a reality.

Presse wieder einmal reagiert. Man liest von der israelischen Mitschuld und
meine Wut steigt ins unermessliche.

zwei Fragen:
1.) Wem schadet dieser Boykott wirklich?
zeigt uns zwei Gesichter:
rekrutieren.
Jeder wähle sich nun, was ihm politisch,
ideologisch oder statistisch am wahrscheinlichsten erscheint.

Hello,
I'm Benny from Israel.I found
your site very interesting, especially the fact that your site site deals
with Judism and aspiration for peace. Unfortunatelly, it seems that in
Israel these topics can't live in peace together.
I will start my studies in Weimar in October. If you need any help
concerning the web-sites, i will be happy to be in touch (Ich spreche auch
Deutsch).

Thema: Boykott???
Dear Friends,
Israel kaputt macht.
Wie soll ich mich als politisch aktiver
Deutscher verhalten?
Gruss,
Jochen And in English:
I am German, politically active since my school
days, and since about ten years a member of the German Social Democrats. For
me, main political topics here in Germany are fighting anti-semitism and
racism, and, since having read the books Uri Avnery published in German with
Dietz Verlag (Karl Marx's old publisher ;-) and now owned by our party) and
having visited the area a few times, also the Middle East peace process.
Germany is the second most important partner of Israel, on the other hand,
we are doing business with many of your neighbours, and are, at least
financially, quite active in the Palestinian territories.
I am quite busy "spreading the word" and
telling people about what Uri and "Gush Shalom" do and say. However, very
recently I stumbled over your call for boycotting Israeli products from the
West Bank.
A similar boycott was organized in Germany in
the Eighties against South African products and was quite instrumental in
making the situation down there public, and, finally, bringing down the
Apartheid regime.
I am pretty sure that Germany is importing
Israeli products from the West Bank. I am just wondering whether it would be
appropriate for us to support such a campaign. It would be very easy to
"counter-campaign" by saying: "Look, the Germans are again doing what they
did in 1933!".
Besides, I would like to know what I can do
further as a German to support the good work "Gush Shalom" is doing (besides
donating, I'm not very rich at the moment ;-) ).
Yours,
Jochen Schrader, Hamburg

Anliegen: Hi,
weitergehen. Einen Teil einer AOL Diskussion
(04.November'95 ff) haben wir archiviert. Die Selbstgerechtigkeit,
Unversoehnlichkeit, Kleinlichkeit... Es ist manchmal sehr entmutigend. (dg) |
