Zusammen mit Manolis Rassoulis:
Die
neuste CD mit Jehudah Poliker
Mit dem Chanukah-Lied "THE MEMORY OF THE CYCLES"
Vorwort
von Manolis Rassoulis
FOR THE PLANET, DAMN IT!
For peace and a solution to the Middle East issue, I
came and have devoted myself in the last four years, to the
sensitive and tragic area of the Middle East and, as if by magic and
with mathematical precision, among other things, I got to meet the
charismatic composer and Greek Jew, Yehuda Poliker (Leonidas
Polikaris).
Hence, 70 songs were produced, 14 of which are included in the
present CD. They are products of a four-year experience in the
toughest part of the planet and, besides being glad and proud to
introduce Yehuda to the Greek audience, convinced that his
incorporation into Greek music enriches the Greek music potential, I
would like to ask you for a little more attention to the songs in
question - and certainly to the forthcoming ones - and for more
attention to the complexity of the Middle East issue.
Certain that I express the antidote to this
internationalized dead end, I consign the present work to your
judgement. Enjoy it - and more.

Hören Sie aus der CD
das Chanukah-Lied:
[Memory of the Cycles]
(mp3-file)
Hanukkah is coming again.
The oil-lamps will be lit.
The Maccabees gave the Greeks
a thousand blows.
And from then onwards,
the Jews have lived nice and free and,
in conclusion, they sing
the hit songs of Kazantzidis.
Hanukkah is coming again...
And if Macabee, ah,
was beaten by Panathinaikos,
who cares, it's OK,
maybe it was God's will.
If you have fire,
fire in your heart,
light this oil-lamp
that I have in my soul,
deep inside my soul,
so that my lemon tree,
my lemon tree,
can have leaves again.
If only the time would come
for things to happen
without rhyme or reason,
for the dreams of those
small and big to take revenge!
And for all of them to be fabulously rich,
ah, on the
planet Earth
and for disease or prayer
to no longer exist.
If you have fire...

Hanukkah is a
celebration of the Jews before Christmas. They celebrate the victory
of the Maccabees
over the Seleukidian Greeks, and they light the nine-light
oil-lamp.
