The
Livnat Brothers at the Devet Bran Festival Prague
Yiddish poetry and old Jewish sources in an original musical
setting with jazz and rock ambience
The
Golden Peacock is a wondrously beautiful mythical bird that flies
across cultures. One can meet the symbol in the Far East, Christian
and Muslims cultures as well as in the Jewish tradition were it
symbolizes the link to the past. In this project modern and old text
from Jewish tradition that reflect the multi layered palette of
colors and ideas of the Pave were collected and set to music. A new
project of the Livnat brothers that continues their line of musical
investigations of unique literary and mystical Jewish texts. The
project includes a new version of the historical czech song "Holčička".

Livnat brothers perform and record original music and contemporary
yiddish jazz music in Israel and abroad. The Livnat Brothers recent
concert tours have included Paris, London, Strasbourg, Belgium,
Prague, Sofia and Poland as well as the U.S.A. They have performed
with Stevie Wonder for president Bill Clinton. Aviv & Arik won the
British Millenium Award for original music which they wrote for a
London West End Theater production. They received "America Israel"
Foundation grants for jazz music, and ACUM's Golden Feather award
for the disc "A Child's Dream".
