(Thema) Zimmerurlaub in Israel
Erstens moechte ich Sie fuer die "haGalil
onLine" herlich beglueckwuenschen.
wirklich schoene Site aufmerksam machen. Eine Site, die es dem Urlaubssucher
etwas einfacher machen soll.
Vielen Dank.

Descendants from
Augsburg
Eine Seite der Nachkommen der Augsburger Gemeinde
My greatgrandparents lived in Munich.
Gerson and Sofie Landmann. They were deported and died in Thersienstadt. My
grandfather moved down to Augsburg where my father was born. The son of the
last Rabbi of Augsburg (Ernst Jacobs) is now your rabbi (Walter Jacobs).
Augsburg and Munich have many things in common and we hope that our group
can help spread tolerance and religious freedom and Judaism where ever
anyone is interested. I know that there is conflicts going on now between
the various forms of Judaism in Germany (Orthodox and progressive) and since
our group has members of every form of Judaism (including some members who
are no longer Jewish). We just hope to keep alive the memory of the previous
Jewish community and hope to be a link of the past to the future.
Vielen dank und ich werde unsere
Mitglieder wissen wo euere website bleibt. Too bad our parents don't know
how to use computers. When my parents come to visit, I'll show them your
site too.

By the way, in a strange sort of twist of
history. My father left Dachau after his internment on Kristallnacht and
then went to England and then America, and then was drafted in the US Army
and sent back to fight Hitler. His was the first battalion that entered
Munchen at the end of the war. He remembers running and looking for his
grandparents, but they were gone. He was the first American to step into
Augsburg during the same week. I started the group and website as a present
to my father. Hopefully, we all can find some peace in this world and just
live as Jews without all this conflict. |

Irving Green: JUDAISM
ON THE WEB
Published by: MIS Press
http://www.mispress.com/judaism
"...Judaism is both a religious and a
cultural community, and it has built a rich legacy of historical documents
and a wide range of ongoing dialogs about the evolution of the Jewish
people. The World Wide Web has become a fantastic archive of the past and a
forum for discussion of the present and future of Judaism. The 500 Web Sites
selected for this book reveal the most fascinating, well-presented, and
significant resources available.
This book unlocks the door to using a new
medium - the World Wide Web-to explore the writings, sights, and sounds of
the vast theoligical and cultural heritage of the Jewish people and to bring
the diverse branches of this communitiy together.
Judaism on the Web covers five major
areas: The Jewish World, The Jewish Year, Culture, Intellectual Life, and
Current Issues. You will discover three-dimensional "virtual" synagoges,
genealogy resources,Kosher recipes, Jewish comics, Yiddish culture, holiday
calendars, Israeli Web Sites, and coverage of all Jewish denominations.
Making this reference to the sprawling
Internet uniquely useful is a series of live links from www.mispress.com to
every site mentioned in this book. These live links make it easy for anyone
with a Web browser to find and enjoy the best of online Judaica with a
single clik of their mouse.
Irving Green is the Publisher of ScanRom
Publications, developers of CD-based and online reference works,as well as
editor and publisher of "The First Electronic Jewish Bookshelf."

Tragedy & Success:
HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR - SOLDIER - DIPLOMAT
Dear haGalil onLine,
I very much appreciate what you are doing, and I agree with your opinion,
that education is the road to justice and everything that derives from it.
If interested, you cand find my WebPage under:
http://aacr.net/mj/valfred.html
This is a "not for profit" page; rather it is meant to warn people
of the danger of brutal and evil demagogues, of radicals and undemocratic
ideologies and practices.
Some photographs do not appear yet nor some corrections. Yet I do not want
to wait any longer and prefer to share my story with you, with the hope that
you will contribute to a widespread distribution by advising friends and
acquaintances to consult my WebPage.
Best greetings and Shalom -
Alfredo F. Vorshirm

I just visited your new website and I
liked it very much. I hope you don't mind I write in English, it is a lot
easier for me than German (which I understand and speak, just not as well as
English). I am the webmaster of the Dutch
Liberal Jewish website, you will find the address in my
signature. I would like to make a link to your site on our Jews in
Cyberspace Page. I think it is very important for Dutch Jews to get
to know their fellow Jews in Germany a little better.
All the best and good luck with your
site.

Hallo,
Rita, E-Mail:

Vielen Dank fuer die Information!

Spurensuche: Der juedische Friedhof
Burgkunstadt
Dieser Friedhof diente den Gemeinden von Burgkunstadt, Altenkunstadt,
Lichtenfels,
in Deutschland
